BLUE

In his book Chroma, artist Derek Jarman writes, 'I wrote this book in the absence of time. If I have overlooked something you hold precious—write it in the margin.' That sentiment captures what I strive for with the Blue series. Through this work, I seek to create art that is radically vulnerable, positioning myself within the lineage of queer artists who have paved the way before me.

Blue stands as their love letter to the work of Nan Goldin, David Armstrong, Derek Jaman, Peter Hujar, David Wojnarowicz, Robert Mapplethorpe, Oscar Wilde, Allen Ginsberg, Arthur Rimbaud… and many others who have deeply moved and inspired me.

Blue is my attempt to go beyond the constraints of the body, to accept that there is something incredibly mysterious and beautiful in the evasiveness of life.
